We have been searching and searching for a van that will suffice and what a big job. Do you go second hand or brand new? Toilet and shower combined or separate? Kids sharing a bed or their own bunks? The list of questions go on, but how exciting just the same!
The other important factor is the kids education. I'm not concerned about educating the kids on the road as I have used a distance education program in the past. What I am tossing about is whether or not I have the gumption to home school this time, instead of distance education. I'm leaning more towards home schooling as when I put Lachlan (our eldest) through distance education a couple of years back, I organised a lot of extra curricular work and I felt that he got more out of that than the actual modules. There are two sides : With distance education you have the modules given to you and the kids just have to complete them and return by set times (within reason) and you are not required to set any extra work. The problem is that getting the work back to the school will be difficult on the road. With home schooling you are allowed to organised your childrens education yourself, which you can cater to where you are at the time. So do you go with the back up from a school, or go it alone?
