Today our house officially went unconditional. So neither the buyer, nor us can pull out!!!! I have just booked some accomodation to go and check out our (possibly) new (secondhand) van on the weekend and the kids and us are so excited.
Tomorrow we are moving yet another trailer load of boxes to Dad and Mum's, where would we be without Dad's and Mum's? I can't believe how empty the house is...tear!
Five years ago we travelled for three months and now we can't wait to hit the road indefinately!

I have to say that Gumtree is a fantastic website for selling your private items. Last night I found a site of a family that is looking to travel in May 2013 (travelaustraliawithkids.com) and they spoke about selling your private itmes to help boost your funds. As in my previous blog, now with the sale of our house, we really do need to sell some STUFF off. Much better than a garage sale!
School in Queensland went back today (July the 9th), but we decided to keep our kids out and take them to the Atherton Show. This is much smaller than the Cairns Show and much friendlier...the kids had a ball. As you can see in the photos, the start to the day was fairly ominous with rain clouds very low and a constant drizzle...the day did pretty much stay like that, but enjoyable just the same.

A fair bit has occured since Friday the 29th of June...
On Friday our business settled and we have taken a big sigh of relief. It was an exhausting business, with staff that wouldn't do as we requested and bills that wouldn't stop entering our mail box!
On Monday the 2nd of July I celebrated my 37th birthday and we signed a contract on our home.
WOW. Take a deep breath. The person buying our home is a cash buyer, so in 14 days, after pest and building inspections, he will be condition free (assuming everything is great...which it will be). BIG PROBLEM...we don't have a caravan and just a couple of months to sort ourselves. Nothing like a bit of pressure.
We went to a local camping store that is closing down and the lovely lady working there got so excited about what we are doing with travelling Australia that she gave us a heap of free items that will be useful for our trip.
So now, all being well, it's count down time and I'll keep you informed.
